What Fonts Go With Mrs Eaves?

August 9, 2026 by Douglas Bonneville

Mrs Eaves pairs great with Jost, Futura and Inter. All 9 pairings are shown below in real rendered specimens, with the reason each one works. Every pairing below is checked against 5 published typography sources.

What fonts go with Mrs Eaves? 9 pairings are shown below, each with a reason it works.

Mrs Eaves is a working typeface, not a novelty. The combinations below were checked against published sources; they are the ones that actually show up in real work, not a random contrast exercise. Here are 9 fonts that pair well with Mrs Eaves.

Font Pairings for Mrs Eaves

  1. Jost
  2. Futura
  3. Inter
  4. Cardo
  5. Univers
  6. Bickham Script
  7. Century Schoolbook
  8. Adobe Garamond
  9. Rockwell

1. Jost

Mrs Eaves paired with Jost - Style A showing headline and body text

Jost is a geometric sans revival in the 1920s Kabel/Futura mold — circular bowls, a single-story a, monoline strokes — with no design relationship to Mrs Eaves. Used as a headline face, its crisp geometry offers a clean contemporary contrast to Mrs Eaves’ irregular, ligature-heavy serifs rather than a matched companion.

2. Futura

Mrs Eaves paired with Futura - Style A showing headline and body text

A plain geometric sans strips away every quirk of Mrs Eaves’ irregular, ligature-heavy serifs, so the display face gets to be the whole personality of the page — the most-repeated real pairing found in this research. : a Typewolf case study (*Little Black Classics*) and 4 separate Fonts In Use projects (*Pocket Penguins* series, *Penguin Little Black Classics* series, *The Stonewall Reader*, Indique Virgin Hair Extensions).

3. Inter

Mrs Eaves paired with Inter - Style A showing headline and body text

Inter was drawn specifically for UI and small-size legibility — tight metrics, a tall x-height, a neutral screen-tuned skeleton. Handling UI chrome and small text while Mrs Eaves’ literary warmth stays reserved for headlines and pull quotes keeps a characterful serif legible on screen.

4. Cardo

Mrs Eaves paired with Cardo - Style A showing headline and body text

Cardo is itself an old-style text serif built for long-form reading; pairing it with Mrs Eaves (seen on the “Moreish Skincare” site) lets Mrs Eaves handle branded display copy while Cardo quietly carries paragraph text at a size where Mrs Eaves’ idiosyncratic details would become distracting.

5. Univers

Mrs Eaves paired with Univers - Style A showing headline and body text

On the same “Moreish Skincare” site, a neutral grotesque grounds the page’s UI chrome and labels, giving Mrs Eaves room to be purely decorative/editorial without needing to also handle functional text.

6. Bickham Script

Mrs Eaves paired with Bickham Script - Style A showing headline and body text

A flourished script for accents/callouts against Mrs Eaves’ body-and-display serif is the most repeated real pattern in the Fonts In Use archive for this font — it turns up on a restaurant identity (Hawks Restaurant), a hair-extensions brand (Indique), and a book jacket (*Mrs. Nixon* by Ann Beattie), all using the same “elegant script accent + literary serif” formula.

7. Century Schoolbook

Mrs Eaves paired with Century Schoolbook - Style A showing headline and body text

On the Rodda’s dairy-brand identity, a plain, high-legibility schoolbook serif for small print sits beneath Mrs Eaves’ more characterful branding type — a practical “legibility workhorse under a display serif” split.

8. Adobe Garamond

Mrs Eaves paired with Adobe Garamond - Style A showing headline and body text

On *Heart Talk* by Cleo Wade (a poetry/gift book), two old-style serifs from different eras share the page — Adobe Garamond’s more even, classical color contrasts with Mrs Eaves’ wider, more irregular rhythm, which is exactly the kind of “two serifs, different temperaments” split that works in literary book design.

9. Rockwell

Mrs Eaves paired with Rockwell - Style A showing headline and body text

On the Noble Syrup label (alongside a script accent), a geometric slab serif for structural/label text grounds Mrs Eaves’ more delicate display forms — an unusual but real combination showing Mrs Eaves can anchor packaging typography rather than only literary design.

Conclusion

There are no absolute rules for font pairing, just principles to guide you. The key is contrast—in weight, in style (serif vs. sans-serif), or in personality. Mrs Eaves is versatile enough to play well with many different typefaces.

Trust your eye, experiment freely, and remember that the best pairing is the one that serves your content and audience. Typography should enhance communication, not complicate it.
