What do you want to know about us? I bet you just want to get the gist of what we are about as fast as possible. Here goes...
Me—Douglas Bonneville—I think visually. That's my job here. I've been designing for fifteen years or so. My background is Fine Arts, so if you work with us, you'll get to leverage that kind of training and thinking. Graphic Design is an art, and we treat it as such.
How do I work, you ask? I ask lots of questions until I apprehend some kind of metaphorical image I can relate back to you. Without that process, I probably won't understand what you are talking about ;) That is why, when I work with a new client, I have lots of questions. That's how I work. I can't design anything until I know what I'm doing, and that I'm sure I'm on track. I also make sure that my mental image or understanding is in sync with what you may have in mind. Graphic Designers are part psychologist - did you know that? We might tell you we can't read your mind, but that's not exactly true. But it's a trade secret how we do it, and I'm not allowed to discuss with you any further.
Think of BonFX as a Fine Woodworking shop. Or perhaps a custom upholstery studio. We labor hard with a clear vision on every project, and are rather meticulous, and simply have to do the job right. It's almost a handicap, but it works.
Mary, who is not here as I write this, is the Marketing VP, and General of Everything Else. We think of how to get you to read stuff like this and make you enthralled enough to give us your next project. You have read this, now, because of her effort to get you here. So she is very effective. And you get to put that kind of energy to work for you as well. Imagine the possibilities. Neither of us want to bore you with how we market, what works, what doesn't etc. You came here to read about the design service, anyway.
Check out my design blog at bonfx.blogspot.com. It's a random journal of some things I've worked on. More food for your thoughts. I can't post everything, but there are some good things there that are not in the small portfolio I keep on this site.
Also, consider just calling (401) 272-1022 and ask for Doug. Email is great too.
If you are close to great Rhode Island landmarks like Brown University on the East Side, Roger Williams Park, Historic Gaspee near Pawtuxet Village, or anywhere on the Narraganset Bay close to Providence, then we are neighbors! Neighbors make the best business partner because it's so easy to arrange a quick meeting.
So there you have it. Not much to write home about, but I hope enough that you will in fact call us if:
Sincerely,
|
